Our Purpose
For over 100 years, DairyCo, has sought to bring fresh dairy products to as many people as possible around the world. This ambition is rooted in the firm belief that fresh dairy products like yogurts both contain nutrients, such as calcium, and provide the enjoyment of a pleasurable eating experience.

At DairyCo, we are a purpose driven organisation and believe that healthy eating practices can only be achieved by considering food in the broader sense: a cultural, social, emotional and physiological experience, where both nutrition and enjoyment play a key role to sustaining health.

 

Glass of Milk – School program

In 2010, we started the Glass of Milk program. This is a program directed to children that come from low resource families, running at the beginning in Elementary Schools in the Midwest. With the slogan “A glass of milk a day keeps worry away”, we provide one glass of fresh milk a day for kids from 5-12 years old to help in their proper growth and development. The program gained traction with our customers and consumers, and we successfully rolled it out with the help of the large grocery chains – Kroger, Walmart and Whole Foods – to make sure we access as many kids as possible. Thanks to the work from our CMO and VP of Finance, this program has been possible. Recently with the addition of our Customer Experience Director, we intend to expand our reach for Dairy Sensitive children and other markets in need.

Our Strategy
The Fresh Dairy Products division produces and markets fresh dairy products and other dairy specialities, drawing on DairyCo’s capacity to develop its ranges and constantly innovate, whether in terms of flavour, texture, ingredients, nutritional benefits or packaging. 

Milk quality is essential for DairyCo yogurts. Because DairyCo collects more than 8 billion liters of fresh milk each year, it must ensure a sustainable, high-quality supply at stable prices. The Company puts in place systems to safeguard or optimize production and access to this essential raw material. It forms close contractual relationships with local producers in the vicinity of production sites in order to limit logistics costs, guarantee the optimal quality of the milk and better manage its dairy subsidiaries.
The relationship between DairyCo and its partner dairy farmers is built on four reciprocal undertakings:

  • Improve the quality and nutritional balance of the milk
  • Encourage development of the dairy farms
  • Protect the environment
  • Raise the status of dairy farming as a profession.

A relationship of trust that offers long-term visibility to both parties.

Innovation means supporting DairyCo’s Fresh Dairy Products division in its commitment to producing high quality products. Whether in terms of nutritional benefits, taste, flavour or convenience, DairyCo’s fresh dairy products aim to be the item of choice for consumers. This means that innovation is a priority in many areas, in order to offer a unique product experience.

 

From the quality of the milk and other ingredients, the search for sustainable industrial techniques through to the aesthetics of the product itself, innovation has a role to play. For decades now, DairyCo has been convinced of the benefits of yogurt in particular and fresh dairy products in general, and the company has continued to innovate so that these remain a pleasure to be shared by all.
